Blood Test - Laboratory Examination
When might a blood test be necessary?
The purpose of a blood test is to examine the formed elements of the blood, clotting factors, or parameters in the serum that indicate the function of specific organs or inflammation.
A doctor will order it if they want to understand the cause of various symptoms – for instance, if we are constantly tired. The collected blood is examined in a laboratory, and based on the results, the specialist can likely confirm or strengthen the diagnosis and gain an accurate picture of any deficiencies.
At Újszeged Health Center, it is sufficient to schedule an appointment by phone or online. Blood tests are conducted on weekdays from 5:30-8:00 AM while fasting. Regular medications can be taken with water for fasting tests. The examination takes approximately 5-10 minutes.

The blood test can be performed within a maximum of 5 working days!
Laboratory test without a referral:
If you do not want to wait months to get an appointment for a referral, it is possible to have any laboratory test performed for a fee.
The payable blood test fee is 3,000 Ft, which does not include the cost of the requested tests, which can be viewed in the following price lists:

Laboratory test with a referral:
In our office, there is the possibility of certain blood tests funded by the OEP (with a referral)!
In this case, laboratory tests supported by the OEP listed on the referral can be performed free of charge, with a blood test fee of 3,000 Ft.
The OEP does not support numerous tests! You cannot request a referral for these tests!
Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) takes 2 hours: 5.000 HUF
Procedure of sugar loading: First, a blood test on an empty stomach, then after consuming the brought 75 g of sugar, repeated blood tests at 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. Both blood sugar and insulin levels are determined to accurately assess insulin resistance or diabetes, as well as its predisposing states.
Laboratory tests are conducted at the SZTE Central Laboratory.
The results are typically downloadable 24 hours later and can be printed through the personal customer portal, ensuring that only persons specified by law have access to the personal health data. If digital data transmission is not satisfactory for you, it is possible to issue the report in printed form by prior arrangement when performing the blood test.
The treating physician, who has access to the EESZT (Electronic Health Service Space) and the right to view it, can also see the report.
It is important that the pre-measured sugar needed for the sugar load test must be bought by the patient from a pharmacy and brought to the appointment!
