Gestational diabetes is a condition that occurs during pregnancy and is becoming increasingly common due to the rising number of overweight individuals, unhealthy dietary habits, and the increasing average age of expectant mothers. Early detection and proper management of this condition are crucial for the health of both the mother and the baby. For women with risk factors for type 2 diabetes or those who have previously delivered a baby weighing over 4 kg, glucose tolerance testing is recommended as early as the 16th week of pregnancy. Currently, mandatory screening is only required at the 24th week of pregnancy.
Early detection and management of carbohydrate metabolism disorders in such cases is a priority and necessitates comprehensive care by a pregnancy endocrinologist, diabetologist, and dietitian.
At our Diabetes Center, we offer complete screening, education, and training in the independent, professional use of insulin pens, insulin pumps, blood glucose meters, and continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMS). Our team has extensive expertise in procuring and using these continuous glucose monitoring devices. With unparalleled experience, we work closely with patients to achieve blood sugar levels clinically comparable to those of healthy individuals. This knowledge is critical in improving patients' quality of life, minimizing complications, and achieving the ultimate goal of our care: a healthy newborn.
Our experienced clinical specialists, dietitians, and educators provide personalized dietary planning and blood sugar control using modern tele-diabetology and innovative diabetes care tools.
