A Medical Textbook Published with the Co-Editing of Our Colleague!

Professor Dr. Tamás Várkonyi, and Dr. Szabolcs Nyiraty our colleague of Újszeged Medical Center, participated as a co-editor alongside Professor Dr. Péter Kempler in the editing and writing of a high-standard medical textbook. The approximately 600-page publication, titled Neuropathies in Clinical Practice, was released a few days ago and provides a comprehensive and professionally rigorous overview of all types of nerve damage caused by various diseases.

The book is authored by around 40 experts, including nine specialists from the University of Szeged. It is expected to generate significant interest, as no similar monograph has been published in Hungary with such depth and accessible language on the subject. Moreover, there is international demand for it, as an English-language edition is already in preparation.

From the Contents:

Medical research and clinical experience continuously shape our knowledge, necessitating regular updates to medical literature. In this spirit, the fourth, revised and updated edition of Neuropathies in Clinical Practice was created. The authors aimed to expand scientific boundaries while maintaining a coherent and structured approach.

The book incorporates the latest international guidelines and research findings, with recommendations backed by the authors' extensive experience in medical practice. This new edition features several timely chapters, including the genetic aspects of neuropathy, the relationship between neuropathy and depression, critical illness polyneuropathy, and drug-induced neuropathies. A significant addition is the inclusion of contributions from about half a dozen renowned foreign authors.

With its refined aesthetics, clear structure, and logical organization, the latest edition facilitates quick information retrieval and comprehension. It is important to emphasize that this book does not replace medical reasoning, the knowledge of current pharmaceutical guidelines, or the study of official sources. The treating physician's individual responsibility in patient care remains paramount.

The aim of this book is to provide valuable guidance in decision-making, simplifying navigation through the ever-expanding body of medical knowledge. We sincerely hope that this expanded, updated, and modernized edition will assist those seeking deeper knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of neuropathies.

Our gratitude goes to the authors, editors, dedicated contributors, and the book’s sponsor, whose invaluable support made this publication possible.
