"An Unexpected Turn That Changed Our Lives.

Everything began on August 14, 2023, when I noticed that my husband was unusually fatigued. This was completely out of character for him, and he had also been using the bathroom more frequently for a week. I immediately suspected something was wrong and thought of diabetes symptoms. We went straight to the hospital, where the tests showed shocking results: his blood sugar level was 68.

A week of hospital treatment followed, but when we returned home, despite strictly adhering to the diet, his levels remained high. I felt that the local hospital was not paying enough attention to the problem, always saying it would 'work itself out.' So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started looking for a solution.

I found the Újszeged Medical and Diabetes Center, where I contacted Ákos Várkonyi, a sensor educator. He immediately helped, and within a few days, we were registered with Professor Dr. Tamás Várkonyi. The Professor thoroughly examined my husband and determined that he had Type 1 diabetes and was therefore eligible for a sensor. Ákos quickly initiated the administration, and within a week, we received the sensor. Since then, we have been able to monitor his blood sugar levels much more easily, and we have adjusted our lives accordingly.

In a strange twist of fate, exactly one year later, on August 14, 2024, my grandchild was also hospitalized with a high blood sugar level of 48. I immediately called Ákos again, who stood by us with all his expertise. My grandchild also received the sensor, so now both are safe.

We are grateful to Ákos Várkonyi and Professor Dr. Tamás Várkonyi, who provided us with the greatest support through their expertise and humanity. I can confidently say that we were in the hands of Hungary's finest professionals, for whom our entire family will always be grateful."
